Xmas and New Year preppers!

Christmas is all about gifts and parties! So we've gotten ourselves some goodies to look fabulous :)

Jayn's..

they all happened to be pinkish (wasn't intentional)

Fave no.1: Cosmo Eyelash, but it's ONLY available in Taiwan Sasa. Even in HK/Macau I looked everywhere, no sign of it. It's soft and natural, best lash ever! RM30 for a box, can't complain!

Fave no.2: Show case Love Cheek blusher. (The little pink round container with colorful balls). I was in love with this colorful ball makeup since I caught a glimpse of Guerlain Meteorites in Singapore last month, but they were rather pricy that I couldn't bring myself to buy them. (SGD70? not sure). So my sister got something similar from Taiwan for me which cost slightly less but still work wonders! I usually brush over the pink balls on the first application for a pinkish result, then stroke them over the green and blue balls for highlights. Love it!

Fave no.3: Bed Head After Party Hair cream. (no idea why it's called after party but of course I apply it BEFORE party =P). It makes my hair soft and smells great! Works on my waist-length hair because I tend to flat iron my hair or curl my ends a lot, it gets rid of damage. Had been using this product ever since a friend of mine introduced me a year ago. Cost around RM80 here.

Tadah~ Bed Head After Party Hair cream holds my baby hairs up too!

Leann's..
Skin care goodies!

I was looking out for a new range of skin care products and I happened to walk right into the Kiehl's booth. I wanted to know if they really are as good as many has claimed! Although a little expensive BUT then again it's the year end so WHY NOT right?  AND for some strange reason, I believe that a brand-new skin care regime = a good start to the year! ;))

Here's a little on why I'm loving 'em after 2 weeks...

no 1: Ultra Facial Cleanser - I LOVE that it's fragrant free! Feels more skin-friendly that way.  All you need is a tiny blob and it will foam up sufficiently to cleanse your face. Do not have that pinch-y feeling after washing. Cost-efficient!

no 2: Ultra Facial Cream - Again, I LOVE that it's fragrant free! Also love that it is light-textured so it doesn't feel like I've just slab a ton of oily mess on my face. Plus, it works as a 24-hour cream, which means I can use this for both day and night.

no 3: Cucumber Herbal Alcohol Free Toner - Instead of the Ultra Facial Toner, I picked this as it is the mildest of all Kiehl's toners. I like that it has cucumber, which I think is soothing on sensitive skin. Sadly, my skin gets red easily under the sun and after alcohol :(

Damage: RM185 - only because the toner was a freebie due to Kiehl's X'mas promo! DOUBLE YAY FOR ME!

happy me!

Yup, like any other girls, we love pampering ourselves!

We love to partay

After the lavish 6 course dinner, we head to Velvet since we were in the area. Velvet has always been our regular party spot just because we dislike queuing to get in to other clubs and sit by the bars without a proper table. Yea, in Velvet we are pretty privileged :)

We didn't want to kill our costly dinner with whiskeys so we planned to settle for a bottle of nice bubbly to enjoy the rest of our night.

Marsh, J and L
Veuve Yellow actually taste much better than Moet Rose

The plan: Chill over a nice bottle of Champagne Rose and call it a night.
The turn out: Champagne showers! (yes 5 bottles and some shots) and we got home at 5.30am.

Our brother's statement: "Expensive champagnes will not give you a headache or a hang over". Ok, statement concurred and approved. We woke up happy and hungry!

Till then, tata :)

French degustation @ Maison Francaise

Our favourite Aussie-brother, Chee-Ster is in town for X'mas! Now, that calls for super fine dining and some serious partying. Yay for the gung ho sisters! This time around we were torn between La Fite at Shangri-La or the recently opened French restaurant Maison Francaise on Jalan Kia Peng.

So we thought hey why not try someplace we've both never been? We like the fact that Maison Francaise has 4 types of degustation menus starting from RM125 to RM380. Plus, a French Chef who has worked in 3-Michelin star restaurants. He could be a hot chef...brownie points!

The black-and-white restaurant did have an air of exclusivity to it. Though we didn't exactly spot any hot chefs or hot patrons.

Some of us took the RM380 degustation and some opted for the RM250. That way we get more varieties - and they say everyone has different taste palates, so we'll be sharing both our thoughts on the food :)

All 6 of us
Amuse bouche - Chilled asparagus blend
L: A nice start to the meal. I opted to down it like a shot!
J: Refreshing!

Chateau Siran 2006
L: For a new wine-drinker, this one is subtle.
J: Fruity, easy :)

Left: Egg with caviar, Right: Lobster raviolis
L: Caviar is always wonderful tasting. Lobster bisque a little too salty.

Left: Veal chop with porccini mushroom. Right: Foie gras terrine
J: Foie gras actually tasted like melting duck-butter! Sinful but awesome.

Left: Seared scallops with parsley coulis, Right: Duck with raspberry
L: Scallops were the freshest I've ever had! Duck could have been better.
J: Scallops were succulent. Texture was flaky and chewy! Duck, was ordinary and tasted a lil' chinese.

Our desserts from the course
L: I couldn't stop eating the Mont Blanc and ice cream. Different textures in one spoon!
J: Cheese platter was good, couldn't remember all their names but my fave's the middle (Goat's)

Enjoying our Mont Blanc with Vanilla Ice Cream

Total bill came up to RM2,100+. Overall, the experience was pretty satisfying. Thank you Chee-ster for the wonderful dinner!

Hi-tea afternoon @ Starhill Tea Salon

What better to do on a Tuesday afternoon than hi-tea? Christmas week means everywhere is packed so thankfully we managed to get a nice comfy spot at the Starhill Tea Salon. Probably because it isn't cheap - RM60+ per pax for a hi-tea buffet. But then again, that means eat all you can. unlimited chocolate tea. chill as long as you want. We couldn't resist! It's such a pretty and classy place..

Lucky for us we had a big enough appetite to wipe out almost each and every dessert that was in the buffet line. Not sure if the guys loved the sweets too much, our poor brothers!

Very similar to TWG in Pavilion but this one's got cozy couches that you can laze on the entire afternoon while eye-ing the rich tai-tai shopaholics in Starhill. Blissful! :)

Munching on our Macaroons

Sumptuous Christmas-y desserts

Look at the cute lil snowman made of strawberry

Chocolate tea - Strong chocolatey aroma but no, it's not sweet

Marsh's Birthday Bash @ TDH Pavilion

Happy Birthday to our dearest evil big sister! It wouldn't have been a 'Marsh-party' without having her on stage singing her own b-day song (along with the band from Tom, Dick & Harry) and killer alcohol that had us drinking from a LONG tube.

And as usual, with our super powers of mixing at least 3 different kinds of booze in a night, we were glad to be still standing by the end of the night. Well, maybe except for Marsh but anyway..

Kisses from the gung ho sisters!

Her Christmassy Birthday cupcakes

So the world didn't end...

Which means our roller coaster ride goes on. We figured why not start a blog to share the bits and pieces of our dramatic life..TOGETHER? Uh huh!

Oh yes, the evil twins. Well not literally, but we ARE blood related :)

Here we are! Twice as much to love. Happy reading.
